The Colour of a Frown
Life is in colour
The sky painted blue up above
Green is all over
With grey tinges where there's no love
There's a stranger there on the edge of town
He looks through the doorway and sees my frown
My frown... oh the colour of my frown...
Of fools there are plenty
Painting by numbers their lives
Dark is their colour
They're playing at husbands and wives
Blindfolds on and they're filled with dread
Enter town and they paint it red
Paint it red... paint it red...
In yellow he fleshed out
The fearful who run from the sun
Burned to a cinder
By those who bow down to the gun
Black is the colour that's etched on their heart
Headed for evil right from the start
From the start... from the start...
Richard of York
Gave battle in vain so they say
They gave him the hunch
Like the whiteness makes prismatic rays
Splashed it all over and painted it on
Straightness of back - they made sure it was gone
It was gone... it was gone...
The stranger who saw
My displeasure was clearly displeased
"You think you're superior"
Was all he could say with a freeze
Colour-killers make me frown
Make me feel like I'm gonna drown
Gonna drown... gonna drown...
